Two new dwellings, BloNorton

G J Bream Ltd was the main contractor on this ambitious project to create two striking contemporary single storey dwellings. Expansive floor to ceiling windows flood the interior with natural light while giving views of the landscape. Large open plan living areas with dramatic vaulted ceilings are combined with spacious bedrooms, high quality finishes and modern fittings throughout.

Single storey rear kitchen extension, Bury St Edmunds.

Built with sympathetic brickwork to complement the original property this rear extension combines modern style with practicality, transforming the home with a bright and spacious new kitchen-dining area. The large sliding glass doors and full-height glazing and roof lights flood the interior with natural light while seamlessly connecting the indoors to the garden. Attention to detail in both construction and finishing ensures durability, comfort, and style for years to come.

Barn Conversion Cockfield

Previously this building was being used to house livestock. Most of the original structure was retained, new internal walls were constructed, and new openings formed in the external walls. Approximately half the original roof structure was retained, and new glulam beams were installed to create vaulted ceilings in the living room and bedroom areas.

New Bungalow Fornham

A large garden was divided to enable the construction of this new build bungalow within the grounds. A timber framed construction with natural slate roof and vertical larch cladding gives a modern feel to this new home.

Athenaeum Restoration

The Athenaeum is one of the town’s most iconic Grade I listed buildings. G J Bream Ltd were fortunate to be asked by West Suffolk Council to undertake this programme of repairs and re-decoration to help restore and conserve it.

Kitchen extension Bury St Edmunds

This modern yet sympathetic extension created a light spacious kitchen/dining room incorporating garden views and a paved outdoor seating area with a glazed canopy.

Extension and alterations to a farmhouse in Depden

A single storey rear extension to create a bedroom, en-suite and enlarged kitchen to a historic farmhouse in Depden. This extension utilised traditional building materials such as limecrete floor instead of concrete, lamb’s wool thermal insulation and lime plastering throughout.

Replacement Extension & re-pointing, Great Barton

Erection of a single storey hipped roof extension to the side of the house following the demolition of an existing old extension. Removal of sand/cement render to expose original brickwork beneath and re-pointing of brickwork and flintwork in lime mortar.

Village Hall Refurbishment

The original flat roof was removed and replaced with a new pitched tiled roof. New gable ends formed and clad with cement fibre boarding. A new suspended ceiling was installed, electrical alterations and re-decoration throughout.
